Who We Are
Her Hope Rising is a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring women and children impacted by substance use disorder, trauma, and justice involvement across Southern Oklahoma.
Our mission is to provide quality trauma-informed recovery housing and supportive services that promote transformational healing for individuals, families, and their communities.
PROGRAMS
Our core activities include the establishment of the region’s first OKARR-certified recovery residence,Providing safe, supportive, faith-based peer-ran recovery homes.
We utilize certified Peer Recovery Support and evidence-based models for recovery. Through this model, Her Hope Rising advances regional efforts to reduce recidivism, stabilize families, and build a culture of wellbeing across Southern Oklahoma.
MY STORY
I’m not someone you would expect to have a prison record. I grew up in a privileged home with loving parents, graduated from college, and became an educator. BUT addiction does not discriminate... after losing custody of my daughter, then my sons my life spiraled out of control. What started as a simple surgery, soon turned into an addiction to opioids and benzodiazepines that robbed me of my hope & purpose.

Upon release from prison, I was accepted into a transitional program hours away from my home, "His House Ministries" and found HOPE through, She Brews Coffee & an amazing mentor, Rhonda Bear.

I will make the most of this second chance by helping other women like myself find hope & purpose.
​I hope my story helps someone struggling to know...there is such a thing as a second chance.
